This Indian grocery store is amazing! They have so many cool things like fresh fruits and veggies, snacks, rice, spices, and even frozen foods. Everything looked really clean and the people working there were very nice and helpful. My favorite part was the **chicken biryani** — it was super delicious! The rice was soft and full of flavor, and the chicken was cooked just right. It tasted like it was made with a lot of care. I wasn’t even that hungry, but I ate the whole thing! I really liked shopping here and can’t wait to come back. If you love Indian food, you should definitely try this place — and don’t miss the biryani!
I’m a half hour away from this location, but I often find myself driving out of my way just to go there to purchase at least a few frozen items. When Habiba makes food for her family, she always cooks extra so that she can sell some in the frozen section of her store. It is always so tasty sometimes a little too hot for me so I make sure I always have some plain or vanilla Greek yogurt in the house to tame it down. And if I don’t happen to have any yogurt in the house, I know I can always purchase some there, and their yogurt is all very healthy. Both Habiba and her husband have been very helpful to me over the years that I have been shopping there and he has been extremely patient and helpful in assisting me with Pakistani or Indian recipes. Her husband hasn’t been working there but every time I go in, she’s there and I’m always very delighted to see her. She is always so patient, helpful, caring and friendly. Her food is so good. I have been enjoying it even for breakfast lol. For the past three mornings, I’ve been having chickpeas, lentils, and spinach and garlic None too bad my freezer is full or I would’ve purchased a family package instead of the 4 naan package. I’m sad to be all out of that now. I would honestly take a trip there today before our impending snow storm, but it’s Sunday and they’re closed. Thank you, Habiba & hubby! ♥️
Great spice, rice and flour selection. Owner was very friendly and helpful and offered suggestions for recipe ingredients. Highly recommended for anyone exploring Indian cooking at home.
Great place to find needed items for Indian cooking, from special dishes you may make infrequently to a full, Ayurvedic diet. The staff are so helpful, low key and just lovely people. They even remembered me after I'd not been able to get there for some time. I wish I lived closer, but they're worth the the drive and many of the items I need have a decent shelf life or are frozen. In the warmer months they have some fresh fruits, etc., as well. Very pleasant, healthful place.
Great place for Non vegetarian people near New Hampshire Salem. Fresh goat meat and my personal favorite PAYA (Goat Feet) I have been trying their mutton since I came to Lawrence MA . The meat takes just 15 to 20 minutes time in a instapot. The Goat feet soup also took only 30 minutes in instapot. Back in India a butcher meat takes an hour to cook and the goat feet takes almost 2 to 3 hours. The people who owns this place are super cool and helpful. They also helped me in picking the right meat for my Biriyani. I am a tourist and on a visit to Lawrence and Portland Maine to see my family. The meat made our day and had a fabulous party. Thanks people of Apna Bazaar. See you soon in my next visit. Also shall definitely recommend your place to my friend’s to come at your place for a delicious treat.
As an American who's lived in India the past five years- I am so happy to have found this place! Super friendly and helpful, plus the flavors of my other home. I can't wait to eat the homemade Punjabi chole that was in the freezer section. I expect to get a real taste of India from here.
